むずかしいのは単語ではありません。相手が名前も聞いたことのない会社を、4つの文で説明することです。このガイドでは、事業内容・規模・市場での位置・沿革の言い方をまとめます。

このトピックで、いちばん手っ取り早く英語らしくなるのがこれです。日本語話者は一文ごとに my company をくり返しがちですが、英語では最初に一度言うだけ、あるいは言わずに we に切り替えます。
くり返しが目立つ
My company makes sensors. My company has 400 employees. My company started in 1985.
間違いではありませんが、不自然に聞こえます。
自然
We make sensors. We have about 400 employees, and we've been going since 1985.
we にするだけで一気に自然になります。
創業者でなくても、入社3週間でも we で問題ありません。会社を自分のものだと言っているようには聞こえません。
事業内容の言い方What the company does
会社から実際に「出ていくもの」に合う動詞を選びます。何も製造していない会社なのに make を使ってしまう人が多いところです。

現在形を使います。会社が何をしているかは変わらない事実なので we make であり、we are making ではありません。進行形にすると「今この瞬間作っていて、いずれやめる」という意味になります。
相手に伝わるのは2文目
We're a manufacturing company. だけでは、相手はほとんど何も分かりません。知らない会社を理解してもらえるかどうかは、そのあとの具体的な一文で決まります。
We're a manufacturing company. Specifically, we make the small motors that move car seats.
取引の流れの中での位置Where you sit in the chain
日本のビジネスパーソンの多くは、一般消費者ではなく企業に売る会社で働いています。それを説明するための語彙をまとめたのがこの図です。

customer、client、consumer、user
4つの語に、それぞれ別の場面があります。どれも小さな違いですが、選び間違えると英語話者にはすぐ気づかれます。
自社から買う人すべて。迷ったらこれ。
法律・コンサル・デザイン・広告などのサービス業。
市場分析で使う語。ひとりの人を指しては使いません。
ソフトウェアやアプリ。有料かどうかは問いません。
規模と組織Size and structure

知名度が低くても説明できる
相手が知らない会社でも、落ち着いてそのまま説明できる言い方があります。卑下しているようには聞こえません。
We're a fairly small company — about fifty people.
You've probably never heard of us, but we supply parts to most of the major makers.
We're one of the largest in Japan, though we're not well known overseas.
沿革と現在の動きHistory and what’s happening now
会社の歴史を話すには3つの動詞の形が必要です。どこで何を使うかは、この時系列の図のとおりです。

受動態に注意。会社が自分で自分を設立することはないので was founded です。能動態にしたいなら、設立した人を主語にします ― My grandfather founded the company in 1985.
よく耳にする間違いCommon mistakes
1. We established in 1985.
会社は誰かに設立されるものなので、受動態にします。
✗We established in 1985.
✓We were established in 1985.
✓The company was founded in 1985.
2. Our headquarter is in Tokyo.
headquarters は建物が1つでも -s が付きます。動詞は is でも are でもかまいません（1社を指すときはアメリカ英語では is が多い）。
✗Our headquarter is in Tokyo.
✓Our headquarters is in Tokyo.
✓We're headquartered in Tokyo.
3. We are 400 people.
人数は have で表します。There are about 400 of us. という言い方もできます。
✗We are 400 people.
✓We have around 400 employees.

4. I work at a venture company.
「ベンチャー企業」はそのままでは英語になりません。venture だけでは「事業の企て」という意味で、venture company という言い方は使われません。
✗I work at a venture company.
✓I work at a startup.
5. I work at a foreign company.
「外資系」は具体的に説明する必要があります。foreign company は漠然としていて、少し不自然にも聞こえます。

✓We're American-owned, but the Tokyo office runs independently.
6. We are making car parts.
会社の事業内容は現在形です。進行形にすると、今日たまたまやっている作業のように聞こえます。

7. Our company's business is the manufacturing of sensors.
「事業内容は〜です」の直訳です。重く、会話ではまず使いません。動詞で言いましょう。
✗Our company's business is the manufacturing of sensors.

✓We specialize in industrial sensors.
8. Our clients buy about 10,000 units a month.
製品を売るなら customer、サービスを売るなら client です。
✗Our clients buy about 10,000 units a month.

✓We have about forty clients, mostly law firms.
間違いではないけれど、言い方を選びたいもの
famous は会社にも使える普通の語です（a famous brand）。ただ、自分の会社を very famous と言うと大げさに聞こえます。well known を使って、どの範囲で知られているのかを添えると落ち着いた言い方になります。
We're quite well known in Japan.
We're one of the biggest in our sector here.
